My Approach
Sunflower Psychology Services is guided by a few key principles:
Neurodiversity-affirming: Neurodiversity is welcomed and valued. Everyone experiences the world differently, and those differences are respected.
Person-centred: Support is tailored to each person’s preferences, goals, and circumstances, focusing on what matters most and what feels practical and meaningful.
Evidence-informed: Strategies are grounded in research and adapted to each person’s strengths and needs.
Strengths-based: We build on what’s already working, while gently supporting areas of challenge in ways that feel safe, validating, and empowering.
Collaborative: I work alongside parents, carers, educators, and workplaces to build understanding and create supportive environments.
Flexible communication & sensory-aware: Sessions are adapted to preferred communication styles and sensory needs, creating a calm, supportive space.
Above all, my goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where people feel understood, valued, and supported.
Why the Sunflower?
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower (created in 2016 in the UK) shows someone may have a non-visible disability and might need extra support, understanding and time.
It has since become a globally recognised symbol, now used in many Australian workplaces and public spaces.
It raises awareness of hidden disabilities like autism, ADHD, and AuDHD, and encourages inclusion and empathy in everyday life.
My sunflower logo represents this practice’s commitment to creating spaces where neurodivergent individuals feel safe, understood, and empowered to thrive.
